DSA 2016

Defence Services Asia 2016
18 - 21 April 2016

I was an occasional visitor to DSA, a biannual event which was held in PWTC, Kuala Lumpur. The last DSA I attended was in 2014 together with my Old Frees mates, Rasdan and Syimy Surd.

Rasdan, Surd and I were friends since our Penang Free School (PFS) days and our involvement in PKBM that strengthened our brotherhood. As such, after DSA 2014 we planned for a mini reunion for ex-PKBM PFS of our batch during the DSA 2016.

Unfortunately, Rasdan could not make it to DSA 2016 this year as he was tasked to the East Coast that week on a last minute instruction by his boss. It's ok Dan, you need to pay back by going for a hiking trip to Pantai Kerachut with me this October. keh keh keh

I reached KL and Surd fetched me at KL Sentral and we had our dinner.

21 April 2016

8:30am
Surd fetched me from my hotel and we went to PWTC. We had our breakfast at the foodcourt located by the riverside. A few minutes later, Hazali arrived and joined us.

The green and the blue.

After we have had our breakfast, we went to PWTC to take our visitor's passes. Visitors to the DSA must pre-register via online a few weeks prior to the event. Once the pre-registration was approved, we can collect the visitor's pass at the collection counter located at the event hall entrance.

The process went smoothly.

The three of us were really enjoying ourselves. Handling the firearms, the military gears, getting into the vehicles, armored personnel carriers, tanks and so on... we were like children with candies and toys. LOL

Then Salimuhar, Zul Bunga and Joehary joined us. Salimuhar is the only guy among our PKBM batch that joined the Army. His rank is Warrant Officer 1, the highest rank for Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO).

Flirt with FLIR.

Lipan Bara AV4, a joint production with Chaiseri Thailand.

What a great fun we had.

We waited for the ultimate show during the event - the hostage rescue demo by the 21 Grup Gerak Khas (21 GGK) near the river outside PWTC.

5:00pm
The event was over. We went to the Sunway Putra Mall located opposite PWTC to have our late lunch at the Boat Noodle outlet there.

Even though only a few of us that could make it to the mini reunion of ex-PKBM PFS, it was great and enjoyable moment reminiscing our glorious years in PFS.

After that, we went our separate ways.

Au revoir, my brothers.

Fortis Atque Fidelis.
